It seems like everyone is offended today about everything. You can't be for or against animal cruelty, a war, a religion, a non religion or even a TV show without someone being offended.

When I lecture or debate, the first person to say, "That offends me." is laying down the trump card. That's the end of the debate. If you're offended then how can I debate that? Ever try to reason with an offended party? When I'm offended I'll tell you one thing, I'm not going to be particularly open minded to what you have to say.

I don't want to live in a society where disagreement is always met with offense. It's not healthy. At the same time, I don't want to live in a society where nobody is capable of being offended by anything. We'd all be so jaded and dismissive that it would be offensive in and of itself.
